Easter is April 20th Several years ago, one of our friends spent a few
months in Uzbekistan. In a fit of homesickness, he and another American
got into a game of trivia, and they found three questions they couldn't
answer. I can remember only two fo the three: (1) What was the name of the
maintenance man on The Jetsons, (2) What's the formula for calculating when
Easter comes? Both answers still evade me, but the calender says Easter is
April 20th this year.
To help you get ready for Easter, we have Easter grass (the green kind
that you put in the Eatser baskets) for only 50 cents, and Easter egg dye
kits for only $1.00 (regular $2.68). The dye kits are pretty cool, as they
don't require the use of vinegar, and they also contain fuzzy stick-on
appliques. They still have the little dye pills, and the little wire egg
dippers, and the back of the box still has the little punch out spots where
you can put the eggs to dry. Some good things just never change...........

Dare To Be Different
We've got lots of canned Borden Egg Nog in stock.
If you're not sure you want egg nog this time of year, how about some easy
homemade ice cream? Frances mixed three cans of egg nog with a can of
condensed milk, put it in the freezer, and ended up with a really good
homemade ice cream treat. At only $1.25 a can, the egg nog's a lot cheaper
and easier than making ice cream the usual way.

International Incidents Italy, that fascinating European peninsula, has
always turned out great food. We've got a couple of Italian treats for you
this week, both designed for a good, hot quick meal. For lunch, we've got
"Pasta Anytime". I've had this numerous times for lunch, and it's a three
minute wonder. Cooked pasta (rotini, penne, spaghetti, or fettuccini) in a
sealed bag, with another bag of sauce (three cheese, sautéed onion and
garlic, cheddar, tomato/mushroom, etc.) in a handy microwave safe dish.
Open both bags, put contents in the dish, microwave for three minutes, and
you've got a hot lunch with NO CLEANUP. That's hard to beat for only $1.50.
For dinner, we've got a few (not a lot) of Classico Pasta Sauce With
Mushrooms and Ripe Olives, or Classico Tomato and Basil. This is enough
sauce to serve three or four people when mixed with fresh, hot pasta and a
salad. When dinner's over, you've got a real Mason jar left for next
year's canning season. All this for only $1.50.
So, a good hot lunch and a good hot dinner, all for only $3 and a
lillte pasta and salad. Not even the fast food place's so-called "value
meals" can feed that many folks that well for so little cash.

Tired Of The Same Old Thing? Break out of your rut, and add a dash of
color and adventure to your next meal with some real Manischewitz Beet
Borscht, or maybe add a new wrinkle to the usual snacks with some
Manischewitz Whitefish and Pike. Each jar has six pieces of fish packed in
jellied broth. We've got both in stock, and yes, we'll let you buy some.

First Class, Top Notch, Upper Level, A-1
We've got four different styles
of A-1 Steak Sauce in stock right now: Bold & Spicy, Sweet & Tangy, Smoky
Mesquite, and Thick & Hearty. These are all in the traditional square
brown bottle, and are a bargain at only $2.50 each.

How Long Has it Been? How long has it been since you had a plate full of
fresh, homemade Rice Krispie treats, or a big slice of homemade creamy
fudge? Probably too long, if you're like me. You can correct this
deficiency with Kraft Marshmallow Creme. The 7 oz jar is only 60 cents,
and can put a new slant on your after-dinner snacking. Yes, we've got
plenty of Marshmallow Creme, too.
